What do people see in Carey Mulligan? (Still pissed that she was cast in Drive.) Her blandness makes her co-stars appear more dynamic. Enough about Mulligan. Michael Fassbender's portrayal of a sex addict is fascinating, but there's not much beneath the surface. Arty, dark.

There's so much to say about Tree of Life, and it's impossible to be objective as I had the great fortune to work on The Thin Red Line. To any Terrence Malick detractors, I encourage you to look at the evolution of his films, and compare them to other directors from the American New Wave movement. It's stunning, and I'm amazed and grateful that an experimental film can be made and distributed in Hollywood.
How long is this Man-Child obsession going to last? And in how many movies will Ed Helms portray a character in a doomed relationship who falls in love with a blond prostitute? Not many laugh out loud moments, a slight quirky film with John C. Reilly: so therefore you must see it.
